The standard we hold others to, applied to ourselves.
An organisation that examines how institutions use authority has an obligation to publish its own. Our registration, our rules, and our limits are set out below, so that any of it can be checked against the public record rather than taken on trust.

Governance
The rules we hold ourselves to.
The conflict rule
A director with any interest in a body under examination declares it before the examination begins and takes no part in the finding. Where the Foundation would be examining a system it is itself connected to, we say so in the published material rather than quietly recusing and hoping nobody notices.
Correction
If we publish something inaccurate, we correct it on the page where it appeared, and we say what was wrong rather than editing it away. An organisation that argues institutions should answer for their errors has no standing to hide its own.
Money
The Foundation runs on donations.
We accept no funding from any body we examine, and none whose continuation would depend on the finding. Where a prospective donor's interests would touch a live examination, we decline rather than manage the conflict.
Holding us to it
If you believe the Foundation has published something inaccurate, overstepped its own stated limits, or failed the standard set out on this page, write to us and say so. Complaints go to the board, and a reply comes from a person.
