What we collect, and what we do not.

There is no account to create, nothing to log in to, and no record of you held on this site. The contact form does not send anything anywhere. It assembles a message and hands it to your own email program, which you then choose to send or not to send. Until you press send in your own software, the Foundation has received nothing at all.

If you do write to us, we hold what you chose to write, in an ordinary email inbox, and nothing more.

When you email the Foundation we hold your name, your email address, and whatever you wrote. We use it to reply to you and to keep the thread coherent if the conversation continues. We do not use it for anything else, we do not build a profile from it, and we do not add you to a mailing list because you wrote to us once.

Who else sees it

Nobody outside the Foundation. We do not sell, rent, trade or share what you send. The exception is the ordinary one: if a Canadian court or a law that binds us requires disclosure, we comply, and we will tell you unless we are forbidden to.

How long we keep it

Correspondence is kept while the conversation is live and for two years afterwards, then deleted. If you ask us to delete it sooner, we will, unless we are required to keep it.

Where it is kept

Our email is hosted by Google, which stores it on servers outside Canada. That means it is subject to the laws of the country it sits in, including lawful access by authorities there. If that matters to you, write from an address you are comfortable with, or ask us for another way to talk.

Loading any web page tells the computer serving it your IP address. That is how the internet works rather than a choice we made, but you are entitled to know who is on the other end of it.

Cloudflare	Serves the pages and shields the site from attack. Sees your IP address and browser, and keeps short-lived security logs. We do not receive those logs.
Google Fonts	Supplies the two typefaces the site is set in, loaded from Google's servers. Your IP address is visible to Google when the fonts load.
Google Analytics	Counts visits so we can tell whether anyone is reading. We see totals, pages and rough regions. We have never used it to identify a person and it is not wired to advertising.

This site sets no cookies of its own and runs no advertising, no tracking pixels, no session recording and no fingerprinting. If you would rather not be counted at all, any browser setting or extension that blocks analytics will stop it, and nothing on the site will break.

The Foundation is a British Columbia society, so PIPA applies to it. Under that Act you may ask what personal information we hold about you and how we have used it, ask us to correct anything inaccurate, withdraw your consent for us to keep using it, and complain if you think we have handled it badly. Write to the address below and we will answer within thirty days, which is the period the Act allows.

Our privacy officer

The Foundation has designated a privacy officer, reachable at admin@lionheart-foundation.ca. Put the word privacy in the subject line and it will reach the right person.

If we get it wrong

Tell us first and we will try to put it right. If our answer does not satisfy you, you can take the matter to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia, which is independent of us and can investigate without our agreement. We would rather you had that route than not.

Children

This site is written for adults and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If a child has sent us something, tell us and we will delete it.
